16 is the minimum age for first solo.

OM MAISURIA

C Category Flight Instructor · General Aviation

Om is Gore Aero Club's full-time flight instructor, with more than 800 hours of flying experience and a Commercial Pilot Licence.

 

He completed his training at the International Aviation Academy of New Zealand, gaining diplomas in General Aviation and Flight Instruction.

 

Om provides flight and ground instruction, helping students progress from their first lesson through to first solo, Private Pilot Licence and beyond.

DEVON SANSBURY

Chief Flying Instructor

Devon is Gore Aero Club's Chief Flying Instructor, providing senior oversight and support for the club's General Aviation flight instruction.


Working alongside Om in a supervisory capacity, Devon is available for advanced instruction, assessments and training requiring a higher level of instructor qualification.

PETER KEMPTHORNE

Bradley Yorke

Senior Microlight Instructor · RAANZ

A full-time aircraft engineer, Peter donates his time to Gore Aero Club as a senior microlight instructor with RAANZ.

With 700 hours of flight time, including 200 hours as a Recreational Pilot Certificate Flight Instructor, Peter provides microlight instruction and is also the club's Treasurer, Secretary, Aircraft Maintenance Controller and airfield contact person.

BRADLEY YORKE

Peter Kempthorne

Part 149 Senior Instructor

Bradley donates his time to Gore Aero Club as a senior recreational flying instructor, with more than 2,500 hours of flight time, including 1,000 hours instructing across fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.

His Part 149 ATO qualification enables him to conduct solo and full Recreational Pilot Certificate flight tests, biennial flight reviews and microlight aircraft type ratings.
