Welcome To The
Gore Aero Club

The Gore Aero Club is situated 7.5km south of Gore on the Gore-Mataura Highway (SH1) on a 100 acre airfield owned by the Gore District Council. There are three grass runways, the main runway 01/19 is 1270m long, with shorter crossing runway vectors 06/24 and 12/30. No landing fees payable and plenty of tie down space available for those staying. Landing lights available by arrangement. Also BP Avgas, Mogas & Jet-A1 available by swipe card on field.

About Us

A Brief History of the Southern Districts Aero Club

The S D A C was originally the Gore Flight of the Southland Aero Club and up till 1958 was based on  an airfield at Knapdale. Membership was 35 active pilots. Due to the lease not being renewed the  Gore Flight moved to a strip at McNab on the property of Mr. Bill Cunningham, a person who became quite a figurehead around our club.......
